<br />5. SPECIAL ORDERS OF THE DAY <br /> <br />A. Proclamation: In Honor of Barry Jolette, Chair of the World Council of Credit <br />Unions <br /> <br />Mayor Foust read the presentation and thanked Mr. Jolette for his many years of <br />dedication to the financial world and this community. He explained some of the worldwide <br />initiatives of the World Council of Credit Unions. <br /> <br />Mayor Foust shared three recognitions that the City Council recently received. These were <br />awards from the San Mateo County Board of Supervisors, the State Assembly and the <br />Peninsula Partnership Leadership Council. They all related to Council policies a and <br />adhering to the Bill of Rights for Children and Youth of San Mateo County, Youth Initiatives <br />and Citywide decision-making processes. <br /> <br />B. Presentation: Threshold 2009 - Redwood City Community Conversations <br />August 2009 - presentation by Greg Greenway, Executive Director <br /> <br />Greg Greenway, Executive Director of Threshold 2009, explained the goal of this <br />organization and reported on the four dialogues that took place in the summer of 2009. He <br />introduced Susan Danielson another project leader. He explained what took place, the <br />outcomes as well as next steps. In particular, he thanked the Housing and Human <br />Concerns for its involvement and stated that all those who volunteered numerous hours will <br />be recognized in a report that will come out shortly. Vice Mayor Howard recognized those <br />in the audience who have been most helpful including Cherlene Wright, Diana Reddy and <br />Council Member Pierce. <br /> <br />C. Presentation: Vice Mayor Howard will provide an update on the Peninsula Traffic <br />Congestion Relief Alliance and Christine Maley-Grubl, CAE, <br />Executive Director, Peninsula Traffic Congestion Relief Alliance <br />will make a presentation <br /> <br />Vice Mayor Howard provided a brief introduction and Christine Maley-Grubl, Executive <br />Director of the Peninsula Traffic Congestion Relief Alliance, and Mike Stevens, the <br />shuttle's program manager gave more details. Ms. Maley-Grubl made a presentation to <br />Council (on file). Mr. Stevens shared details on the Climate Best Express shuttle route. <br />This included background information on past and current activities, budget, ridership <br />levels, and the new shuttle logos. Ms. Maley-Grubl thanked Vice Mayor Howard for all her <br />efforts and years of dedication to this cause. <br /> <br />6. ORAL COMMUNICATIONS AND CONSENT CALENDAR <br /> <br />MOTION: Waive reading of the Consent Calendar except the ordinances by title, <br />adopt the resolutions and the ordinances, and approve other items. <br /> <br />Public Comment: <br />Lorraine Rumley, representing the Board of Directors of the Latino Leadership Council of <br />San Mateo County, reported on the International Latino Festival that took place last <br />weekend.
