The proposed 25-year construction timeline is excessive, creating decades of disruption for neighboring residents. <br />This long-term commitment also ties the hands of future councils, making it unwise to approve such a plan for a <br />vulnerable site. <br />Action Requested <br />* Delay the vote to allow the community process to finish <br />* Strengthen Alternative 2 to more effectively address environmental and safety concerns <br />* Require a comprehensive analysis of landfill and sea level rise impacts, even if not mandated by CEQA <br />* Follow up on the request from Council Member Gee for a smaller alternative that better addresses community <br />concerns <br />Rushing this alternative selection without finalizing the community process does not serve our best interests. Major <br />developments impacting our shoreline require thorough scrutiny.
