Learn why this is important <br />Dear members, <br />I am writing to say that I support the police department using all tools necessary to subdue <br />those resisting the police. I don’t think the number of POC has anything to do with what tools <br />police arm themselves with, especially one that is so much less lethal and harmful than a gun. <br /> I trust law enforcement to use these tools judiciously and the department to have a culture and <br />regulations against using them more harshly on people of color - or on anyone when not <br />warranted! Please know that not everyone in the city thinks law enforcement should be <br />hobbled in keeping us safe just because we have many POC living in our community. <br />If the city has a budget issue, please save money by discontinuing your assault on drivers! <br /> How much money is spent adding impediments to the streets of RWC? It has become hell <br />driving around the city. Do you ever consider that people have to drive because the public <br />transit is not usable and at 70 I’m not going to ride a bike? Have you noticed that few people <br />ride bikes in the city? It is dangerous no matter how many bikes you paint on the road. If you <br />think some people might be speeding on a road sent out an officer to issue speeding tickets to <br />the guilty, don’t make driving hell for everyone by taking the lazy (and expensive) approach <br />of adding speed bumps and circles to almost every street in town!!! <br />I appreciate your consideration on both of these items.
