REV: 04-29-25 LF <br />7000, American Welding Society AWS standards A5.20-E70T1. The manufacturer shall be <br />required to have an American Welding Society certified welding inspector in plant during testing <br />operations within working hours to monitor weld quality. <br />Employees classified as welders shall be tested and certified to meet American Welding Society <br />and American Society of Mechanical Engineers welding codes. <br />PERFORMANCE TESTS AND REQUIREMENTS <br />A road test shall be conducted with the apparatus fully loaded to its estimated in-service weight <br />and shall be capable of the following performance while on dry paved roads that are in good <br />condition and for a continuous run of ten (10) miles or more, during which time the apparatus shall <br />show no loss of power or overheating. The transmission drive shaft or shafts and rear axles shall <br />run quietly and be free from abnormal vibration or noise throughout the operating range of the <br />apparatus. Vendor shall furnish a Weight Certificate showing weights on the front axle, rear axles <br />and total weight for the completed apparatus at time of delivery. <br />•The apparatus shall be capable of accelerating to 35 MPH (55 km/hr) from a standing start <br />within 25 seconds on a level concrete highway without exceeding the maximum governed <br />RPM of the engine. <br />•The apparatus, fully loaded, shall be capable of obtaining a minimum top speed of 50 MPH <br />(80 km/hr) on a level dry concrete highway with the engine not exceeding its governed <br />RPM (fully loaded). <br />•The service brakes shall be capable of stopping a fully loaded vehicle in 35ft (10.7 m) at <br />20 mph (32.2 km/hr) on a level concrete highway. The air brake system shall conform to <br />Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards (FMVSS) 121. <br />•The apparatus, when fully loaded, shall have not less than 25 percent or more than 50 <br />percent of the weight on the front axle, and not less than 50 percent nor more than 75 <br />percent on the rear axle. <br />•Vendor shall have the Underwriter’s Laboratories, LLC conduct the tests of the apparatus <br />as in accordance with standard practices required by the Underwriter Laboratories, LLC <br />(Guide for the Certification of Fire Department Pumper latest edition). A copy of all tests <br />shall accompany the Apparatus. (For apparatus sold within Canadian ULC S515 latest <br />revision shall prevail). <br />•Vendor shall furnish copies of the Manufacturer’s record construction details when <br />delivered. <br />INFORMATION REQUIRED <br />The manufacturer shall supply at time of delivery, a complete operation and maintenance manual <br />covering the completed apparatus as delivered. <br />A Fire Apparatus Safety Guide published by Fire Apparatus Manufacturer's Association shall be <br />provided with the apparatus upon delivery. <br />ATTY/AGR.2025.089/Fire Apparatus Solutions (Purchase of Spartan-LTC 105' TDA) (Page 12 of 150)
