REV: 04-29-25 LF <br />extreme mud and snow conditions. During this condition the ATC light and the light on the rocker <br />switch shall blink continuously notifying the driver of activation. Pressing the switch again shall <br />deactivate the mud/snow feature. <br />FRONT BRAKES <br />The front brakes shall be Meritor EX225 Disc Plus disc brakes with 17.00 inch vented rotors. <br />REAR BRAKES <br />The rear brakes shall be Meritor 16.50 inch X 8.63 inch S-cam drum type. The brakes shall feature <br />a cast iron shoe. <br />PARK BRAKE <br />Upon application of the push-pull valve in the cab, the rear brakes will engage via mechanical <br />spring force. This is accomplished by dual chamber rear brakes, satisfying the FMVSS parking <br />brake requirements. <br />SUPPLEMENTAL BRAKE <br />A supplemental brake engagement shall be supplied that can only be engaged while the rear <br />spring brakes are engaged. In addition to the mechanical rear brake engagement, the front <br />service brakes shall also be engaged via air pressure, providing additional braking capability. <br />Front service brake activation shall be accomplished with activation of the rear mechanical park <br />brake valve. <br />PARK BRAKE CONTROL <br />A Meritor-Wabco manual hand control push-pull style valve shall operate the parking brake. <br />The parking brake actuation valve shall be mounted to the left side of the engine tunnel integrated <br />into the transmission shift pod console within easy access of the driver. <br />REAR BRAKE SLACK ADJUSTERS <br />Haldex rear brake automatic slack adjusters shall be installed on the axle. <br />AIR DRYER <br />The brake system shall include a Wabco System Saver 1200 air dryer with an integral heater with <br />a Metri-Pack sealed connector. The air dryer incorporates an internal turbo cutoff valve that closes <br />the path between the air compressor and air dryer purge valve during the compressor “unload” <br />cycle. The turbo cutoff valve allows purging of moisture and contaminants without the loss of turbo <br />boost pressure. The air dryer shall be mounted behind the battery box on the left-hand side. <br />FRONT BRAKE CHAMBERS <br />The front brakes shall be provided with type 24 brake chambers as supplied with the Hendrickson <br />STEERTEK NXT axle. <br />ATTY/AGR.2025.089/Fire Apparatus Solutions (Purchase of Spartan-LTC 105' TDA) (Page 46 of 150)
