REV: 04-29-25 LF <br />BATTERY CABLE <br />The starting system shall include cables which shall be protected by 275 degree F. minimum high <br />temperature flame retardant loom, sealed at the ends with heat shrink and sealant. <br />BATTERY JUMPER STUD <br />The starting system shall include battery jumper studs. These studs shall be located in the <br />forward most portion of the driver's side lower step, 8.00 inches apart. The studs shall allow the <br />vehicle to be jump started, charged, or the cab to be raised in an emergency in the event of battery <br />failure. <br />ALTERNATOR <br />The charging system shall include a 360 amp Niehoff 12 volt alternator. The alternator shall <br />include an ignition excited external regulator. <br />STARTER MOTOR <br />The single start electrical system shall include a Delco brand starter motor. <br />BATTERY CONDITIONER <br />A Kussmaul Auto Charge Chief 4012 battery conditioner shall be supplied. The battery conditioner <br />shall provide a circuit protected 40-amp output for the chassis batteries and a 20-amp output <br />circuit for accessory loads. The conditioner shall also include a battery temperature sensor. <br />BATTERY CONDITIONER LOCATION <br />The battery conditioner shall be mounted in the cab on top of the left-hand mid EMS compartment. <br />BATTERY CONDITIONER DISPLAY <br />A Kussmaul Universal Status Center battery conditioner display shall be supplied. The display <br />shall indicate full charge, low charge, charging, and a three (3) digit voltage reading. <br />BATTERY CONDITIONER DISPLAY LOCATION <br />The battery conditioner display shall be mounted in the left side front step on the vertical area <br />above the intermediate step towards the rear of the step well. <br />CAB/CHASSIS ELECTRICAL OUTLET <br />There shall be a 120V 20A power pre-wired into the cab to a junction box behind the driver’s seat. <br />12/3 wiring terminating in the junction box shall be routed to behind the cab on the chassis frame <br />rails with a 20.00 feet long coil for connection to apparatus 120V power supply. <br />ELECTRICAL INLET LOCATION <br />An electrical inlet shall be installed on the left-hand side of cab over the wheel well in the forward <br />position rear of the grab handle and above the door entry key pad if applicable. <br />ATTY/AGR.2025.089/Fire Apparatus Solutions (Purchase of Spartan-LTC 105' TDA) (Page 69 of 150)
