Community Development Block Grant (CDBG), HOME & Other Funding <br />The City administers various federal and local grant programs to support affordable housing development and preservation. <br />Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) and Home Investment Partnership (HOME) <br />The City of Redwood City receives annual entitlements (grant funds) of Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) and Home <br />Investment Partnership Program (HOME) from the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). The <br />CDBG program provides resources to address a wide range of community development needs principally for low-income <br />households. CDBG is used to produce and/or preserve decent affordable housing, to provide services to the most vulnerable in our <br />community, and to create jobs through the expansion and retention of businesses. <br />The HOME program is designed exclusively to create affordable housing for low-income households. It provides resources to that <br />are used to fund a wide range of activities including building, buying, and/or rehabilitating affordable housing for rent or home- <br />ownership assistance to low-income people. <br />CITY OF REDWOOD CITYNOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING ON THEPROGRAM YEAR 2025 ANNUAL ACTION PLAN <br />The Annual Action Plan (Action Plan) is federal prerequisites for receiving Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) and <br />HOME Investment Partnership (HOME) entitlement funds from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). <br />The Action Plan is one of three components of a Five-Year Consolidated Plan (Con Plan): 1) a community profile and market needs <br />analysis that describes the needs of the community’s low income and minority residents; 2) a five-year strategic plan that identifies <br />quantitative performance outcomes the City will achieve using federal funding to meet the community needs; and 3) a one-year <br />Action Plan for each of the five years that identifies how funds will be used annually to meet the quantitative goals. The <br />recommendations for Program Year (PY) 2025 (July 1, 2025 to June 30, 2026) constitute the specific Action Plan for the third year <br />of the City's Consolidated Plan for 2023-2027.
