STRATEGIC PLAN GUIDING PRINCIPLE Excellence in Government Operations BACKGROUND On June 13, 2022, the City Council adopted Resolution No. 16051, authorizing the collection of sewer service charges for all residential parcels with one-dwelling unit through the County tax roll for fiscal year (FY) 2022-23 and also endorsed the transition to be conducted as a five-year pilot program. For sewer service charges to be collected on the tax roll, an annual report of parcels and proposed charges must be prepared and filed with the City Clerk, with a public hearing for the City Council to allow any protests against the proposed action to be heard. The City Council approved reports in 2023 and 2024. The FY 2025-26 Sewer Service Charge Report is on file with the City Clerk and available through the City’s website (link). If protests are not made by a majority of the affected parcels, the City Council may adopt a resolution adopting the Sewer Service Charge Report for the upcoming fiscal year, allowing for the continued collection of sewer service charges for all one dwelling-unit residential customers on the tax roll, in furtherance of the five-year pilot program. 7.B. - Page 1 of 328 394
