Learn why this is important <br />Dear Redwood City Mayor and Chief of Police, <br />I am writing to inform you of a dangerous situation at 17th Street and Florence Street <br />intersect. <br />Drivers frequently exceed the speed limit in this area, and many fail to stop even when <br />pedestrians activate the yellow flashing lights at the crosswalk. I have personally witnessed — <br />and experienced — several near misses. Additionally, the yellow pedestrian crossing sign is <br />obscured by overgrown trees, particularly for drivers approaching from Marsh Road toward <br />17th Street, making it even harder for them to notice pedestrians. <br />Something must be done before a near miss turns into a tragedy. <br />I urge you to consider implementing stronger safety measures at this intersection, such as a <br />STOP sign, a red pedestrian-activated crossing light, and/or increased traffic patrols. <br />Thank you for your attention to this serious matter. <br />Sincerely <br />M.B.
