The non-housing sections of this implementation p�an cover the period from January 'f, <br /> 2�10 through December 31, 2014. The second section�f this Plan discusses the Agency's <br /> goals and objectives that re{ate to its affordable housing activities and provides other <br /> information concerning#he agency's compliance with the affordab[e housing obligations as <br /> required by the CRt.The sections that describe implementation of housing produc#ion, <br /> replacement, and income-targe#ing requiremen#s address a#en-year compiiance period. <br /> Pursuant to the CRL, the firs#ten�year income targeting compfiance period is an extended <br /> period from January 1, 2002 through December 31, 2014. <br /> A. Project Area Description and Limifis <br /> Redevelopment Praject No. 2 is comprised of three non-contiguous sub-areas totaling <br /> approximate[y 1,016 acres in the generally northern section of Redwood City. The original <br /> project area was adopted on July 19, 1982 by �rdinance No.1862, consisted of 332 acres, and <br /> eneompassed four sub-areas: the Gateway, Centre, Marina and Seapart. The redeveiopment <br /> pran was amended in 1985 to add 4.26 acres to the Gateway subarea.A second amendment in <br /> 1989 resulted in tF�e�Gateway and Centre subareas being combined into a new "Downtown" <br /> sub-area and the addition of 680 acres to the newly ide�tified Downt�wn sub-area. The Plan <br /> was amended again in 1994 to extend time limits pursuant to AB 1290 and#or a fourth time in <br /> 20�1 to extend eminent domain authority through January 18, 2008. A profile of the Project <br /> Area including plan limits and acreages is provided on Table 1.
