ATTY/RESO.0067/CC RESO SUPPORTING THE BAY TRAIL, SEAPORT BLVD MULTI-USE PATHWAY PROJECT <br />REV: 06-12-25 LR <br />Page 1 of 2 <br />RESOLUTION NO. 16331 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD <br />CITY SUPPORTING THE BAY TRAIL - SEAPORT BLVD MULTI-USE <br />PATHWAY PROJECT AND AUTHORIZING THE SUBMITTAL OF AN <br />APPLICATION TO THE SAN MATEO COUNTY TRANSPORTATION <br />AUTHORITY FOR MEASURE W CYCLE 1 REGIONAL TRANSIT <br />CONNECTIONS PROGRAM FUNDING <br />WHEREAS, creating and maintaining a multimodal, safe, and accessible <br />transportation network is one of the City of Redwood City (Project Sponsor) City Council’s <br />adopted strategic priorities; and <br />WHEREAS, on April 3, 2025, the San Mateo County Transportation Authority (TA) <br />announced a Call for Projects for the Measure W Regional Transit Program Cycle 1 with <br />the goal to fund transit improvement projects that connect San Mateo County with <br />Alameda County, San Francisco County, and Santa Clara County and/or develop a <br />first/last-mile system that creates access for all ages and abilities to regional transit <br />stations and supports connected micromobility; and <br />WHEREAS, RWCMoves, the citywide transportation plan, identified the Seaport <br />Boulevard multi-use path as a bicycle backbone network that connects to the future <br />Redwood City ferry terminal and the Project Sponsor is committed to improving the <br />bicycle and pedestrian environment on the current multi-use path to support non- <br />motorized first-last mile access to the future ferry terminal; and <br />WHEREAS, the Project Sponsor identified improvements needed along the <br />Seaport Boulevard multi-use pathway (Project); and <br />WHEREAS, the Project is aligned with the TA’s requirements for this Call for <br />Projects; and <br />WHEREAS, it will cost $4,000,000 to complete the preliminary engineering, <br />environmental phase, and final engineering design for the Seaport Boulevard path; and <br />WHEREAS, the Project Sponsor seeks $3,600,000 for the Project; and <br />WHEREAS, to receive grant funding, the TA requires a governing board resolution <br />from the Project Sponsor for the following items: <br />1.Supporting the Project and applications for $3,600,000 in TA Measure W <br />Cycle 1 Regional Transit Connection Program funds for the Project; and
