City of Redwood City 1017 Middlefield Road, Redwood City, CA. 94063 Tel: 650-780-7000 www.redwoodcity.org
exemplified the positive collective impacts of programs that span multiple City departments in
collaboration with committed community partners like Redwood City Together and the PAL Center.
The current contract extension would carry the original PACE program into the summer and allow for
development of the next iteration of PACE in the fall, seeking deeper positive impacts for youth in
Redwood City and North Fair Oaks through strategic alignment with City services, engagement of
community stakeholders, definition of roles and responsibilities, leveraging existing programs, and
utilizing data and technology. PAL Center’s full time Youth Empowerment Specialist will continue to
implement an innovative, youth-informed collaborative framework, transforming how the community
engages with and supports the highest-risk youth. PAL Center will continue its focus on building capacity
for strategic partnerships with local high schools, the RCPD Diversion Program, PRCS, the Redwood City
IDEAL team, and overseeing programs like the PACE Advisory Board and Youth Leadership Institute (YLI)
Voice Program aimed to create more leadership spaces for youth. The primary goal is to connect young
people with essential services and develop a framework to reach the transition-aged youth who are some
of the hardest-to-reach community members in Redwood City and North Fair Oaks, fostering leadership
and personal growth.
EQUITY IMPACT STATEMENT
Equity and/or inclusion was considered in development or implementation of item through the
following:
Assessment of benefits and burdens by race, income, age, gender, citizenship status, or other
identity
Engagement with relevant Redwood City communities through public meetings, surveys, or other
means, with a focus on communities traditionally least likely to be heard in civic processes
FISCAL IMPACT
There is no General Fund impact associated with this contract amendment. The total contract amount is
not proposed to increase.
ENVIRONMENTAL REVIEW
This activity is not a project under California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) as defined in CEQA
Guidelines, section 15378, because it has no potential for resulting in either a direct or reasonably
foreseeable indirect physical change in the environment.
PUBLIC NOTICE
Public notification was achieved by posting the agenda, with the agenda items being listed, at least 72
hours prior to the meeting.
6.I. - Page 6 of 11
345
