Page 1 of 5 <br />City of Redwood City 1017 Middlefield Road, Redwood City, CA. 94063 Tel: 650-780-7000 www.redwoodcity.org <br />STAFF REPORT <br />To the Honorable Mayor and City Council <br />From the City Manager <br />DATE: June 23, 2025 <br />SUBJECT <br />Approve the Second Amendment to the Individual Water Sales Contract with the City and County of San <br />Francisco <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />By motion, approve and authorize the City Manager to execute the Second Amendment to the Individual <br />Water Sales Contract between the City and County of San Francisco and City of Redwood City. <br />STRATEGIC PLAN GUIDING PRINCIPLE <br />Excellence in Government Operations <br />BACKGROUND <br />Redwood City (City) is a party to the Water Supply Agreement between the City and County of San <br />Francisco (San Francisco) and Wholesale Customers in Alameda County, San Mateo County and Santa <br />Clara County dated July 2009, as amended and restated in 2021 (WSA). The WSA contemplates that each <br />wholesale customer will enter into an Individual Water Sales Contract (IWSC) with San Francisco which <br />the City did on July 1, 2009. The IWSC provides that water delivered to the City by San Francisco may be <br />used or sold within the service area shown in Exhibit A of the IWSC. <br />On July 27, 2023 the City and San Francisco entered into the first amendment of the IWSC which adjusted <br />the City’s service area boundary near Godetia Drive in the Town of Woodside replacing Exhibit A of the <br />IWSC with Exhibit A-1. Subsequently, through an agreement with the California Water Service Company <br />(Cal Water) the City transferred water service for 7 properties on Godetia Drive to Cal Water. <br />The San Franciso Public Utilities Commission (SFPUC) also directly provides retail water service to select <br />customers outside San Francisco. This includes 85 residential customers which currently have direct retail <br />connections to the SFPUC’s regional water system large diameter (60-inches and larger) Bay Division <br />6.K. - Page 1 of 11 <br />368
