Page 9 of 10 <br />7.PUBLIC HEARINGS - None <br />8.STAFF REPORTS Page 1052 <br />8.A.Consideration of an anti-camping ordinance to regulate camping on public <br />property <br />Recommendation: <br />The City Council Ad Hoc Committee on Homelessness recommends that the City <br />Council take the following action: <br />1. Waive the first reading and introduce an ordinance adding Chapter 49 (Hopeful <br />Horizons: Empowering Lives Initiative) to the Redwood City Municipal Code, an <br />anti-camping ordinance (Attachment A) modeled after the County of San Mateo’s <br />ordinance, with an added provision authorizing the City to remove an <br />encampment with 48 hours’ notice if it is located within 200 feet of a school and <br />further directing staff to return to the City Council within two-years of adoption <br />of the ordinance with a comprehensive review of its implementation and <br />outcomes since adoption; and <br />2.
