From:Saniya F
To:publiccomment
Subject:Support for anti-camping ordinance must be coupled with more housing options for the homeless.
Date:Friday, July 18, 2025 4:32:38 PM
You don't often get email from saniyaf2014@gmail.com. Learn why this is important
Hello,
I am a homeowner in the One Marina community in Redwood City. I submit this comment
regarding the anti-camping ordinance that is being reviewed by the City council on Monday,
July 21st.
I and my fellow community Members hope that the anti-camping ordinance is passed and that
it will reduce our community's risk of fires and package theft.
However, I urge the city council to do more to provide housing support and social services for
people who have no other safe place to go. Using this ordinance to chase them away from one
spot, without giving them acceptable alternatives, is not going to solve any real problems. And
crowded shelters where they don't feel safe is not an acceptable alternative. You've approved
so much commercial development in RWC. That's great, and it means there is money coming
into the city. So please spend it to benefit everyone who lives here, not just those incomes
above 100K.
~Saniya Fayzullina
644 Turnbuckle Dr
Redwood City, CA 94063
