From:Eunice Jiang
To:publiccomment
Subject:Public comment for Joint City Council meeting on July 21st, regarding item 8A
Date:Friday, July 18, 2025 4:32:42 PM
You don't often get email from eunjiang@gmail.com. Learn why this is important
Hello RWC City Council,
I would like to submit for review a comment regarding upcoming anti-camping ordinance,
with a suggestion to add to sensitive areas public parks, day-cares, main streets (which impacts
interest in engaging with local public spaces). I am in favor of some level to enforcement and
encouragement for unhoused individuals to receive services
for rehabilitation to minimize likelihood of returning to the streets.
Many homeless individuals end up choosing unsanctioned behaviors (some illegal) to make
living on the streets more comfortable (like collecting shopping carts, or covering sidewalks
up with personal belongings). I'd like to see such behaviors being prosecuted to minimize
engagement in illegal behaviors.
Thank you for considering my comments.
Best,
Eunice Jiang
