We are writing to strongly support Redwood City’s efforts to adopt an anti-camping ordinance
as outlined in Agenda Item 8A.
Our location within the city is industrial and somewhat neglected. We have long dealt with
homeless and transient populations. From these populations we have experienced theft,
harassment and intimidation, we have lost youth participation, and we have seen significant
increases in trash and other human waste which create an unhealthy environment that is not
safe for anyone.
We thank the city for all that it has done to support us and we strongly support the city’s
considerate approach to tackling homeless encampments in our community. After the City's
tremendous efforts at cleanup, re-encampment is a continuing issue and this humane, well
thought-out ordinance should additionally reduce the possibility of re-encampment.
Regards,
Marty Udisches (you-DISH-iss)

Marty Udisches
President
Bair Island Aquatic Center (BIAC)
