ATTY/RESO.0076/CC RESO CANNABIS TAX GRANT PROGRAM <br />REV: 07-14-25 MI <br />Page 1 of 1 <br />RESOLUTION NO. 16338 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD <br />CITY RETROACTIVELY APPROVING THE APPLICATION FOR AND <br />AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER, OR DESIGNEE, TO ACCEPT THE <br />FY 25/26 CANNABIS TAX FUND GRANT PROGRAM LAW <br />ENFORCEMENT GRANT AWARDED BY THE CALIFORNIA HIGHWAY <br />PATROL TO THE REDWOOD CITY POLICE DEPARTMENT IN THE <br />AMOUNT OF $399,415.72, AND TO EXECUTE THE GRANT <br />AGREEMENT AND ANY RELATED DOCUMENTS NECESSARY TO <br />RECEIVE FUNDS <br />WHEREAS, the California Highway Patrol (CHP) has been delegated the <br />responsibility by the Legislature of the State of California for the administration of the <br />Cannabis Tax Fund Grant Program, setting up necessary procedures governing grant <br />application; and <br />WHEREAS, said procedures established by the CHP require the applicant to <br />certify by resolution the approval of the application to the State; and <br />WHEREAS, successful applicants will enter into an agreement with the California <br />Highway Patrol to complete the Grant Scope. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF REDWOOD CITY AS FOLLOWS: <br />Section 1. The City Council of the City of Redwood City retroactively approves the <br />filing of an application for the CHP Cannabis Tax Fund Grant Program for Fiscal Year <br />2025/2026 in the amount of $399,415.72. <br />Section 2. The City Council authorizes City Manager, or their designee, to accept <br />the grant from the CHP Cannabis Tax Fund Grant Program for Fiscal Year 2025/2026, in <br />the amount of $399,415.72, and to execute the grant agreement, attached as Exhibit A, <br />and any related documents necessary to receive the funds. <br />Section 3. The resolution shall go into effect immediately. <br />* * *
