Capital Improvement Plan WDR REQUIREMENTS Attachment D-8.4 (pg. D-9) “The capital improvement plan must include the following items: • Project schedules include completion dates for all portions of the capital improvement program; • Internal and external project funding sources for each project; and • Joint coordination between operation and maintenance staff, and engineering staff/consultants during planning, design, and construction of capital improvement projects; and InterCity coordination with other impacted utility agencies.” COMPLIANCE The City’s Capacity Improvement Plan is found in Chapter 4 of its 2023 Master Plan. Engineering staff and Public Works Operation and Maintenance staff collaborate on the design and selection of sewer capital improvement projects. Most sanitary sewer capital improvement projects involve city-owned and maintained infrastructure and require little interagency coordination. The City provides sewer service to six satellite agencies (see Sections 1.3 and 3). Projects such as the 60” sewer extension to the Redwood City Pump Station (Maple Street Pump Station) will require coordination between the City and Silicon Valley Clean Water. Projects are funded through the City’s annual budget based on project priority and funding availability. The City’s FY 2024-2025 adopted budget and the FY2024-2025 budget in brief are found at Budget Books and Budget in Brief. Operations staff and engineering staff meet monthly to discuss potential projects and coordinate.
