Summary of Service Offered The Center offers public facing materials and resources, services directly for jurisdictions, and is developing an affordable ADU program. Public Facing Materials for Homeowners Answers to Homeowner Questions The Center’s staff is available to answer questions and provide assistance to homeowners navigating their local ADU development process. This service saves significant time for planning counter staff. In April of 2025, the Center is launching a Help Line service, which homeowners can sign up for, to help troubleshoot ADU challenges. ADU Feasibility Consults Starting in April 2025, the Center is providing homeowners in member jurisdictions with personalized consults to answer questions around the feasibility of a homeowner’s potential project, how to navigate the ADU development process and potential costs. ADU Affordability Programs The Center is developing an affordable ADU program to incentivize homeowners to construct affordable ADU rentals. The Center is convening a working group of 11 jurisdictions to develop the program design, with intention to launch in FY 25/26. Webinars and In-Person Education Events The Center hosts educational webinars and in-person events, providing homeowners information and advice on all aspects of ADU development. Both live events and webinars can be customized for specific jurisdictions. Plans Gallery Members of the Center receive access to an online Plans Gallery that enables homeowners to browse a collection of jurisdiction pre-approved ADU plans. Homeowners can search for specific types, sizes, and architectural styles of ADUs. This product satisfies one of the requirements of AB 1332, which requires cities to have a pre-approved ADU plans program in place. Guidebook and Other Handouts The Center has produced a comprehensive guidebook to help homeowners navigate the ADU development process - from initial idea to permitting and selecting contractors. 7.E. - Page 6 of 9 93
