At the close of the recruitment period, staff forward eligible
applications to the City Council for consideration. Applicants are interviewed by the City Council and at a
subsequent meeting, the City Council votes to make their appointments. Applicants who are not
appointed remain on the eligibility list, which is then used to fill any vacancies that occur prior to the next
recruitment period.
For the 2025 BCC recruitment, the recruitment period was open January 31-March 31, 2025. The City
Council held interviews at a Special Meeting on April 21 and made appointments at the Regular Meeting
on April 28.
On July 11, 2025 the City Clerk was informed that a member of the Housing and Human Concerns
Committee (HHCC) resigned from the Committee due to relocating out of Redwood City. As a result, the
City Council will need to appoint one person to fill the partial-term vacancy expiring May 31, 2028 using
the eligibility list established during the 2025 BCC recruitment.
9.A. - Page 1 of 3
440
