CITY OF REDWOOD CITY <br />LEAD LANDSCAPE GARDENER (Continued) <br />3 <br />Safely mix, load and apply herbicides/pesticides and supervise these <br />actions performed by assigned staff. <br />Operate a City vehicle to various locations to review site conditions. <br />Physical Characteristics: <br />Must be able to perform heavy manual labor and work outside in varying <br />climatic conditions. <br />Experience and Education: <br />Any combination of experience and education that would likely provide the <br />required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the <br />knowledge and abilities would be: <br />Experience: <br />Two years of experience performing increasingly responsible duties <br />in park landscape maintenance work. <br />Education: <br />Equivalent to the completion of the twelfth grade supplemented by <br />college or technical training specializing in horticulture or park <br />maintenance. <br />License or Certificates: <br />Possession and maintenance of, or ability to obtain, an appropriate, valid <br />California Driver’s License by date of hire. <br />Desirable to pPossession of a general horticulture certificate is desirable. <br />Possession of Certified Commercial Applicator License from State of <br />California, Department of Food and Agriculture. <br />Within 12 months of hire, possession of either: <br />A)Qualified Applicator Certificate (QAC) with Category “B” Landscape <br />Maintenance classification issued by the California Department of <br />Pesticide Regulation <br />OR <br />B)Qualified Applicator License (QAL) with Category “B” Landscape <br />Maintenance classification issued by the California Department of <br />Pesticide Regulation <br />Effective Date: February, 1985 <br />ATTY/RESO.0086/CC RESO AMENDING THE CITY CLASSIFICATION, SALARY AND WAGE PLAN (LEAD LANDSCAPE GARDNER, PRINCIPLE & SENIOR <br />PLANNER, REVENUE SERVICES MANAGER) - EXHIBIT A <br />REV: 08-14-25 MI
