CONSENT CALENDAR - Continued <br /> 8.H. Waive second reading and adopt an ordinance adding Chapter 49 <br /> (Hopeful Horizons: Empowering Lives Initiative) to the Redwood City <br /> Municipal Code and approve Memorandum of Understanding with County of <br />San Mateo on enforcement of the ordinance <br /> Recommendation: <br /> 1. Waive second reading and adopt an ordinance adding Chapter 49 (Hopeful <br />Horizons: Empowering Lives Initiative) to the Redwood City Municipal Code, an <br />anti-camping ordinance (Attachment A) modeled after the County of San Mateo’s <br />ordinance, with an added provision authorizing the City to remove an <br />encampment with 48 hours’ notice if it is located within 200 feet of a school, the <br />San Mateo County Navigation Center (located at 275 Blomquist Street), or a <br />waterway, and further directing staff to return to the City Council within two-years <br />of adoption of the ordinance with a comprehensive review of its implementation <br />and outcomes since adoption; and <br /> 2. Approve and authorize the City Manager to execute a Memorandum of <br />Understanding (MOU) with the County of San Mateo (Attachment B) that codifies <br />the roles and responsibilities of both parties on enforcement of the ordinance.
