There is a high volume of pedestrians utilizing this intersection, and the <br />project was identified as a priority pedestrian improvement project in the City’s adopted Walk Bike <br />Thrive Plan based in part on the collision history. The City conducted a feasibility assessment in <br />2023 to identify the safety countermeasures to include in the design, and to select the preferred <br />alternative for construction. <br />The project will construct modifications to the intersection alignment and geometry, ADA <br />improvements, pedestrian crossing improvements, and traffic signal upgrades to install a new 8- <br />phase system allowing for a separate phase for pedestrians. <br />This Project Supplement No. 2 provides funding for the completion of the CON phase of the <br />Project. <br />ATTY/AGR.2025.107/San Mateo County Transportation Authority (James/El Camino Real Intersection Pedestrian Safet) (Page 2 of 5)
