Chapter 9 of the Redwood City Code is hereby repealed and deleted in its entirety and replaced with the new Chapter 9 included in Exhibit A hereto and incorporated herein. SECTION 2. Chapter 14 of the Redwood City Code is hereby amended as shown in Exhibit B hereto and incorporated herein, by adding the text shown in bold and double underline (example) and deleting the text shown in strikeout (example). Wording in brackets ([example]) is informational only and is not to be included in the published ordinance. SECTION 3. Chapter 24 of the Redwood City Code is hereby amended as shown in Exhibit C hereto and incorporated herein, by adding the text shown in bold and double underline (example) and deleting the text shown in strikeout (example). If any section, paragraph, sentence or word of this Ordinance or of the Code hereby adopted should for any reason, be found invalid, it is intended that all other portions of this Ordinance independent of any such portion as may be declared invalid shall be valid. SECTION 5. This adoption of this Ordinance is exempt from CEQA pursuant to CEQA Guidelines Section 15378 because it is not a “project” that has any potential for resulting in a direct physical change in the environment or a reasonably foreseeable indirect change since it is an administrative activity that does not authorize any construction, and pursuant to CEQA Guidelines section 15061(b)(3) because it can be seen with certainty that approval will not result in an environmental impact. SECTION 6. A. The provisions of the 2025 California Codes adopted herein by reference as amended herein, shall not apply to any building or structure for which application for a building permit was made prior to January 1, 2026. Such buildings or structures shall be erected, constructed, enlarged, altered or repaired in accordance with the provisions of the Code in effect at the date of said application. B. All other applications shall be processed in accordance with the provisions of the 2025 edition of the California Codes as adopted and amended herein. SECTION 7. Exhibit A to this Ordinance shall be codified in the Redwood City Code as specified in Section One. Exhibit B to this Ordinance shall be codified in the Redwood City Code as specified in Section Two. Exhibit C to this Ordinance shall be codified in the Redwood City Code as specified in Section Three. No other sections shall be codified.
