IN GENERAL <br />Sec. 9.1. ADMINISTRATION OF CHAPTER; APPLICABILITY OF CERTAIN TERMS: | <br />A. The provisions of this Chapter shall be administered by the Building Official and authorized representatives. <br />All other officers and employees of the City shall assist and cooperate in the administration of this Chapter. <br />B. Whenever in any of the codes adopted in this Chapter the term "Building Official" is used, it shall mean the <br />City Building Official or their designee. <br />C. Whenever in any of the codes adopted in this Chapter the term "Board of Appeals" is used, it shall mean the <br />Board of Building Review. <br />D. Whenever in any of the codes adopted in this Chapter the term "Health Officer" is used, it shall mean the <br />authorized representative of the San Mateo County Department of Health. <br />Sec. 9.2. FILING, DISTRIBUTION OF PUBLICATIONS: <br />Copies of each publication adopted by reference in this Chapter shall be kept on file in the office of the Building <br />Official and shall be available there for public inspection. Additionally, one copy of each publication adopted by <br />reference in this Chapter shall at all times be kept on file in the office of the City Clerk and, likewise, shall be available <br />there for public inspection. <br />Sec. 9.3. VIOLATIONS AND PENALTIES: <br />A. It shall be unlawful for any person to erect, construct, enlarge, alter, repair, move, improve, remove, convert, <br />demolish, equip, use, occupy or maintain any building or structure in the City or cause the same to be done <br />contrary to or in violation of any code provision as adopted by this Chapter or any amendment thereto as <br />adopted by this Chapter. <br />B. Any person, firm or corporation, whether as principal, agent employee, or otherwise, who shall violate or cause <br />the violation of any of the provisions of the codes or amendments adopted by this Chapter, or fail to comply <br />with any order, license or permit made or issued thereunder, or who shall build or install in violation of any <br />detailed statement of specifications or plans submitted and approved thereunder and from which no appeal <br />has been taken, or who shall fail to comply with such an order, license or permit as affirmed or modified by <br />the Council or by a court of competent jurisdiction within the time fixed therein, shall severally, for each and <br />every such violation and noncompliance thereof, shall be punishable as provided in Section 1.7B of this Code. <br />The imposition of anyone (1) penalty for any violation shall not excuse the violation or permit it to continue. <br />Each and every day a violation shall continue shall be deemed to be a separate violation. Notwithstanding the <br />foregoing, any person, firm or corporation violating Section 903.2.13(e) regarding Automatic Sprinkler Systems <br />shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor, and each such person, firm or corporation shall be deemed guilty of <br />a separate offense for each and every day or portion thereof during which such violation exists and shall be <br />punished as set forth in Section 1.7A of the Redwood City Code. The act of violating Section 903.2.13(e) shall <br />include maintaining a property without an Automatic Sprinkler System as required by Section 903.2.13(e).
