•A heat pump is a heat mover, not a heat maker. Think of it as a <br />smart air conditioner that can also run in reverse.•To Cool (Summer): It works exactly like a standard air conditioner. It <br />pulls heat from inside your house and dumps it outside, leaving the <br />inside cool.•To Heat (Winter): It cleverly reverses the process. It pulls heat <br />energy from the cold outside air and moves it inside to warm your <br />house. Even on a cold day, there is enough heat in the air for it to <br />work efficiently.This process is highly efficient because moving existing heat takes <br />far less energy than creating new heat from scratch, which is why <br />it saves money and is encouraged by modern energy codes.
