Transportation Survey Results and Analysis - Senior Affairs Commission
This evaluation is based on a "Transportation Survey - Senior Affairs Commission," which received
494 total respondents between May 1, 2025-August 20, 2025. The survey's core purpose is to
understand the transportation needs of the senior residents in Redwood City and recommend a way
to improve transportation options.
In analyzing both this and the previous survey, a significant observation is the high number of skipped
questions. While the commission had initially considered a shorter survey, we ultimately chose to
proceed with a larger number of questions.
Possible factors may have contributed to the high number of skipped questions:
Survey length: Respondents may have lost interest due to the length of the survey.
Question complexity: Some questions may have been too confusing or difficult for
respondents to answer.
Lack of relevance: Certain topics may not have been interesting or relevant to the
respondents.
Technical issues: The survey platform may have been difficult for some participants,
especially given the target demographic and their lack of digital knowledge.
Survey fatigue: Respondents may simply be experiencing general tiredness from taking too
many surveys.
Survey ANALYIS
1. This survey is for folks ages 65 and over only. Please select your age group.
Based on the survey data provided for individuals aged 65 and over, most respondents fall into the
younger age brackets. The survey had a total of 213 respondents.
Distribution of Age Groups
65-74 years: This is the largest age group, with 96 respondents, making up 45% of the total.
75-84 years: The second-largest group, with 77 respondents, or 36%.
85-89 years: This group accounts for 29 respondents, or 14%.
90-94 years: This age group has 10 respondents, or 5%.
95 years or older: The smallest group, with only 1 respondent, representing 0% of the total.
The data shows a clear trend: as the age groups get older, the number of respondents decreases
significantly. The vast majority of respondents (81%) are between 65 and 84 years old.
2. Do you have an active Driver License?
Based on the data, most respondents do have an active driver's license.
8.B. - Page 11 of 48
68
