Three sub-committees are designated in the district management plan to <br />implement the work of the RCIA organization: Sidewalk Operations, Beautification and Order (SOBO), <br />District Identity and Streetscape Improvements (DISI), and Parking Committee. A Fourth sub-committee, <br />the Executive Committee, is responsible for leading the organization. <br /> <br />RCIA finished their 2023-2024 Fiscal Year on November 30, 2024, with a budget of $933,086. Under the <br />adopted management plan, the annual funds were spent as follows: <br /> <br />Program or Activity Funded Percent of Annual Budget <br />Sidewalk Operations and Beautification 54% <br />District Identity and Signage 20% <br />Administration/Corporate Operations 20% <br />Parking Management 4% <br />Contingency/Fees/Reserve 2% <br /> <br />Below are some of RCIA’s accomplishments and highlights for Fiscal Year 2023-2024: <br /> <br />“Sights, Sounds, and Tastes of Redwood City” Campaign – An experiential and media campaign to <br />highlight how Redwood City activates all sense <br />Art Kiosk Installation Project – In collaboration with Fung Collaboratives, public art was displayed <br />at kiosks located in Courthouse Square <br />Piano Design Project – Design and installation of two artistic baby grand pianos, one designed by <br />Francisco Escartiz and meant to be placed between City Hall and the Library and one designed by <br />Christine Ong-Djicks near County Center <br />Placemaking Space – Investing $30K toward the purchase of new tables and chairs, including ADA- <br />compliant tables <br />Influencer Partnerships – Building Redwood City brand awareness by collaborating on social <br />media activations with popular local influencers <br />Downtown Beautification – Building and maintaining planters with seasonal plantings; funding <br />and creation of holiday and seasonal banners and flags <br />Shadow Art Touchup – Touch up paint applied to shadow art pieces located on sidewalks <br />throughout Downtown Redwood City <br />In-Person Events – Celebrated and promoted in-person events, such as Movies on the Square, Art <br />on the Square, Oktoberfest, Dia de Los Muertos, and the Zoppe International Circus <br />RCIA Bi-Weekly Newsletter – Continued creation and submittal of a bi-weekly newsletter <br />highlighting business resources, upcoming events <br />RCIA Holidays – Festive flags, banners, and lights were dispersed throughout Downtown to <br />promote the holiday season, including promoting other special holiday events in the Downtown, <br />such as Hometown Holidays and holiday tree lighting <br />8.A. - Page 2 of 33 <br />14
