With advanced features such as GPS <br />navigation, high-resolution imaging capabilities, and intuitive controls, the Paladin EXT LTE <br />Module Drone offers users a powerful tool for aerial reconnaissance, surveillance, and <br />monitoring tasks. <br />Purpose/Authorized Uses: To enhance the safety of potentially dangerous situations by <br />providing first responders with the ability to capture video and still images of hazardous areas <br />prior to, or in lieu of, sending in personnel. This technology has also been used to look for <br />missing persons in an outdoor environment. <br />Fiscal Impacts: None. Equipment owned, maintained, and operated by RCFD, SMCSO, <br />DCPD, SBPD, or APD. <br />Legal/Procedural Rules Governing Use: The use of unmanned, remotely piloted, powered <br />ground vehicles potentially involves privacy considerations. Absent a warrant or exigent <br />circumstances, operators and observers shall adhere to all applicable privacy laws and shall <br />not intentionally record or transmit images of any location where a person would have a <br />reasonable expectation of privacy (e.g., residence, yard, or enclosure). In accordance with <br />all State and Local laws and any applicable Redwood City Policies. <br />Training Required: The San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office, Redwood City Fire Department, <br />San Mateo Police Department, San Bruno Police Department, and Atherton Police <br />Department provide internal training for staff members prior to allowing them to pilot them. <br />Operators are licensed accordingly. <br />Other Notes: None. <br />8.G. - Page 39 of 44 <br />407
