ATTY/RESO.0120/CC RESO APPROVING AND ADOPTING REVISIONS TO ENGINEERING STANDARDS REV: 11-25-25 VR Page 1 of 2 RESOLUTION NO. 16371 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY APPROVING AND ADOPTING REVISIONS TO ENGINEERING STANDARDS FOR THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY WHEREAS, under Section 29.1 of the Municipal Code, the City Council may approve amendments to engineering standards, specifications, and regulations recommended by the City Engineer; and WHEREAS, on November 25, 2019, the City Council adopted Resolution No. 15802 approving those certain documents entitled, “Standard Technical Specifications”, “City Standard Details”, and “Design Criteria”, collectively described as “Engineering Standards for the City of Redwood City”; and WHEREAS, on January 21, 2022, the City Council adopted Resolution No. 16020 revising the Engineering Standards for the City of Redwood City; and WHEREAS, on January 22, 2024, the City Council adopted Resolution No. 16201 revising the Engineering Standards for the City of Redwood City; and WHEREAS, the City Engineer recommends additional revisions to the Engineering Standards for the City of Redwood City in order to meet current local and State codes and regulations, and to clarify standards and specifications of public works improvements and construction; and WHEREAS, the revisions to the Engineering Standards for the City of Redwood City are summarized in Exhibit A - Engineering Standards Summary of Revisions – December 8, 2025, and a complete digital edition of the three volumes is available for review at the City Clerk's office; and WHEREAS, the City Council reviewed and considered the revisions to the Engineering Standards for the City of Redwood City. NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, AS FOLLOWS: 1.The revised Engineering Standards for the City of Redwood City dated December 8, 2025, attached to the staff report and on file with the City Clerk’s Office and the City's Engineering and Transportation Department, are hereby approved and adopted as the City’s minimum standards, specifications, and regulations for the construction of public works improvements in the City of Redwood City; provided, however, that nothing herein contained shall be deemed to limit the authority of this Council, or any commission, board or officer of the City to require higher or different standards as may otherwise be duly authorized or required.
