In order to maintain a reliable payroll, the City has a strong interest in avoiding <br />retroactive salary increases in light of the potential for time delays and errors associated with the required <br />manual processing of these changes. <br />Equity adjustments are generally limited to classifications that are both significantly behind comparator <br />data and for which the City is experiencing significant recruitment and retention problems. <br /> <br />The City acknowledges that pay and benefits for represented employees are subject to the collective <br />bargaining process and nothing in this policy will infringe on the City’s duty to bargain in good faith. <br />10.A. - Page 18 of 18 <br />618
