The proposed Platform (attached) reflects updates and modifications recommended by the
City Council’s Governance Sub-Committee. Adoption of the 2026 Legislative Platform will ensure the City’s
advocacy efforts remained aligned with current priorities.
RECOMMENDATION
By motion, adopt the Redwood City 2026 Legislative Platform as recommended by the City Council’s
Governance Sub-Committee.
STRATEGIC PLAN GUIDING PRINCIPLE
Excellence in Government Operations
BACKGROUND
Each year, the City reviews and updates the Legislative Platform to guide state legislative advocacy efforts.
Addressing the City Council’s top priorities at the state level requires a multi-layered approach, and
maintaining and updating the Legislative Platform at the beginning of each legislative session is an
important component of the City’s overall legislative advocacy program. This ensures that the City
Council’s current priorities are reflected in the Platform and allows the City to engage on state initiatives
11.A. - Page 1 of 11
209
