There are trade-offs between approaches. For example: <br />1.Keeping the Mezesville district as it is = development <br />restrictions on existing properties for possibly limited <br />historic value. <br />2.Redrawing or delisting the district = fewer development <br />restrictions on properties, but further potential <br />replacement of older properties. <br />3.Replacing the district with newly designated individual <br />historic buildings = fewer development restrictions on <br />some properties, while preserving the "cream of the crop." <br />4.There could be other strategies to communicate the <br />historic significance of a place like Mezesville,e.g. <br />interpretive signage or interpretive components in public <br />space design. <br />Preservation Treatment Approaches: Mezesville Historic District
