Receive a summary update on the Jefferson Avenue Traffic Safety Improvement <br />Project; and <br />2. By motion, approve Alternative B for final engineering design and construction. <br /> <br />CEQA: <br />As the lead agency under CEQA, the City of Redwood City has determined that approval <br />of the staff recommended design alternative is not a “project” as defined by the CEQA <br />Guidelines because it will not result in either a direct physical change in the environment <br />or a reasonably foreseeable indirect physical change in the environment. <br /> <br />Motion and second, Sturken and Howard, to: <br />1. Receive a summary update on the Jefferson Avenue Traffic Safety Improvement <br />Project; and <br />2. By motion, approve Alternative B for final engineering design and construction. <br />The motion passes unanimously by roll call vote. <br /> <br /> 11.C. Utilize exception to Public Employees' Pension Reform Act 180-day waiting period for <br />post-retirement employment in order to hire retired annuitant to perform duties of <br />Extra Help Deputy Fire Chief <br /> (900) Reso 16383 <br />Human Resources Director Michelle Katsuyoshi gave a presentation. <br /> <br />There was no public comment. <br /> <br />Recommendation: <br />Adopt a resolution approving an exception to the Public Employees' Pension Reform Act <br />180-day waiting period and appointing retired annuitant Gregory DaCunha as Extra Help <br />Deputy Fire Chief effective January 27, 2026, or upon CalPERS approval to hire, <br />whichever is later. <br /> <br />CEQA: <br />This is not a project under California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) <br /> <br />Motion and second, Howard and Gee, to adopt a resolution approving an exception <br />to the Public Employees' Pension Reform Act 180-day waiting period and appointing <br />retired annuitant Gregory DaCunha as Extra Help Deputy Fire Chief effective January <br />27, 2026, or upon CalPERS approval to hire, whichever is later, passed unanimously <br />by roll call vote. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />
