From:dhmbay dhmbay
To:Council-Diane Howard; Redwood City City Council
Subject:Blocked sidewalk
Date:Friday, February 20, 2026 8:55:10 PM
Friday night, woodside rd in front of Safeway. Note that to pass by on the sidewalk one must duck under the string of lights, less than five foot vertical clearance, so little room horizontally that a wheel chair cant pass. ADA violation. The city gave me a ticket at my home because a small bush I have was overthe sidewalk by about four inches, I had to trim the bush to avoid a fine.
How is this allowed on Woodside rd. I inquired to you via email already and have no reply. Is this legal to block the sidewalk, has this food vendor been licensed, health inspected? Please respond this time.
You jumped all over me about a tiny plant encroaching no more than four inches in front of my home a while ago, the inspector citing ADA code.
Here one must duck under lamps that are strung on city street trees five feet off the ground, and shuffle on past sideways around this vendor.
What gives? I see an ADA violation here.
Has this been approved by you?
Dave
Sent from my iPhone
