We live on Redwood Avenue. There is a taqueria that uses an open flame and sets up chairs
next to our home.
In our view
-They violate appropriate hours by serving food until midnight
-There is a major fire safety issue. There is an open rotisserie flame on a patch of dry grass.
Can we include in ordinance that any vendor - motorized or non-motorized - operating with
fire has at least 2 fire extinguishers?
-They leave trash everywhere
In addition, I wanted to share that in the past year, my husband and I had to call the police
department, who sent us to the City of Redwood City, who sent us to San Mateo County. Then
they sent us back to Redwood City, who said they couldn't do anything since after 6pm. Then
the police again, and round again and again. We're grateful that Amanda invited us to speak
tonight.
In terms of enforcement, it would be great to determine in this new proposal a process for
complaints and a clear owner across the City, the PD, and SMC.
