<br />CITY OF REDWOOD CITY <br />POLICE SERGEANT III (Continued) <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />4 <br /> <br />Operate a motor vehicle safely. <br /> <br />Experience and Training: <br /> <br />Fifteen (15) years of service as a sworn peace officer, with at least two (2) years <br />with the City of Redwood City (years of service need not be continuous) and, <br />sixty (60) college semester credits of which twenty-four (24) must be in the <br />Administration of Justice, or in the alternative, an employee who possesses an <br />A.A. or higher degree from an accredited institution of higher learning. <br />Successful completion of all phases of the basic police academy, and <br />successful completion of the Field Training Officer program. <br /> <br />Must maintain a current performance evaluation of meets or exceeds <br />standards. <br /> <br />License or Certificate: <br /> <br />Possession of, or ability to obtain, an appropriate, valid driver's license. <br /> <br />Possesses a valid Advanced Certification awarded by the California <br />Commission on Peace Officer Standards and Training. <br /> <br />Special Requirements: <br />Essential duties require the following physical abilities and work environment: <br /> <br />Ability to sit, stand, walk, kneel, crouch, squat, stoop, reach, crawl, twist, climb, <br />and lift 75 lbs.; exposure to cold, heat, outdoors, and dust. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Effective Date: March 10, 2025 (formerly titled Police Sergeant – Advanced <br />15-year); <br />Amended Date: March 9, 2026 (retitled to Police Sergeant III) <br />Bargaining Group: Police Supervisors Association <br /> <br />ATTY/RESO.0008/CC RESO AMENDING CLASSIFICATION AND WAGE AND SALARY PLAN (SEIU, RCMEA, RCPOA, RCPSA) - EXHIBIT A-B <br />REV: 03-03-26 MI <br /> <br />Page 22 of 54
