Page 4 of 5 <br />City of Redwood City 1017 Middlefield Road, Redwood City, CA. 94063 Tel: 650-780-7000 www.redwoodcity.org <br />The resolution affirming the City's existing authority to regulate and control the use of City property and <br />facilities speaks to the importance of the safety, security and well-being of the community, and confirms <br />that any unauthorized use of City property and facilities is prohibited, and that the City Manager and City <br />Attorney, and their respective designees, are authorized to enforce these prohibitions including through <br />legal action. <br />Next Steps <br />The City is actively planning several FIFA-related events in June. The Committee will collaborate with staff <br />to help shape these events and ensure a safe environment for all attendees and participants. More <br />information will be provided later this spring. <br />EQUITY IMPACT STATEMENT <br />As discussed in the Background and Analysis sections of this memo, the Ad Hoc Committee’s <br />recommendation is intended to support and reinforce the City’s commitment to equity. <br />FISCAL IMPACT <br />There is no direct fiscal impact anticipated to be associated with the adoption of the proposed resolutions. <br />ENVIRONMENTAL REVIEW <br />This activity is not a project under California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) as defined in CEQA <br />Guidelines, section 15378, because it has no potential for resulting in either a direct or reasonably <br />foreseeable indirect physical change in the environment. <br />PUBLIC NOTICE <br />Public notification was achieved by posting the agenda, with the agenda items being listed, prior to the <br />meeting. In addition, a press release regarding this activity was distributed on March 27, 2026. <br />ALTERNATIVES <br />The City Council could: <br />1.
