Additional details of the project are described below.
The primary hospital building (Cancer Center) would replace existing development and
occupy a majority of Block D adjacent to the existing Stanford Health Care Outpatient Center.
Existing development in Block G (550 Broadway) would also be demolished and replaced by
two new medical research and clinic buildings.
In place of the research and development office uses within Blocks C and D (575-585
Broadway), an increased development floor area would be devoted to hospital uses.
A central utility plant is proposed within Block D at the corner of Bay and Douglas Avenue.
Due to increased parking needs for a larger campus with increased medical clinic/office uses,
three new parking garages are proposed to be constructed throughout the campus on existing
Blocks C, E & F. Two of these structures are positioned along the US 101 frontage, and one is
perpendicular to Bay Avenue. A limited number of surface parking lots would remain within
the campus.
Figure 3 - Conceptual Site Plan

Stanford has provided a project narrative and description of the requested amendments that compares
the proposed and existing conditions here. The requested General Plan and Precise Plan amendments are
summarized below.
8.A. - Page 4 of 12
349
