P a g e | 10Redwood City Police Department <br />2025 <br />Annual Military Equipment Use Report <br />Patrol Division – ARV Deployment <br />December 16, 2025 <br />2200 Block Avy Avenue, Menlo Park <br />Menlo Park Police Department requested assistance from the Redwood City Police Department for a <br />subject sitting inside a vehicle with a firearm on his lap. A tactical plan was developed to utilize the <br />department’s ARV equipped with a boom attachment and ram extension to breach the rear window to <br />gain a clearer view inside the vehicle. Verbal commands were issued, no response. The boom <br />attachment was used to successfully break and rake out the rear window. Officers approached the <br />vehicle and confirmed the subject was deceased. A loaded firearm was located on the subject’s lap. <br />Equipment used: <br />ARV <br />Patrol Division – ARV Deployment <br />December 25, 2025 <br />Douglas Ct/East Bayshore Road, Redwood City <br />Suspect: Hispanic Male, 26 years old <br />Officers located a vehicle that fled a day prior for vehicle code violations. With assistance from the <br />drone, officers observed a woman remove a rifle from the vehicle and point it down the street in <br />different directions. Patrol officers arrived on scene and the driver of the suspect vehicle fled. Officers <br />utilized the ARV to safely approach and detain the involved subjects.
