This vehicle is essentially an ambulance protected from ballistic threats. <br />Manufacturer Product Description: The Lenco BearCat Medevac, also known as the <br />MedCat, was designed to meet the combined requirements of SRT & Tactical EMS Teams. <br />This BearCat model can be used as an armored Response & Rescue SRT truck for <br />dangerous call-outs, and is equipped to provide Tactical EMS with a safe & effective <br />environment to deal with trauma cases. <br />Purpose/Authorized Uses: This vehicles primary purpose is to provide ballistic protection to <br />medical personnel, first responders and victims in the event of a critical incident or planned <br />operation. <br />Fiscal Impacts: None. Equipment is owned through the San Mateo County Bureau of <br />Emergency Services and is operated and stored at the Burlingame Fire Station. <br />Legal/Procedural Rules Governing Use: Standard Emergency Vehicle operating <br />procedures.
