REV: 04-01-26 LR <br />Validate construction activities are consistent with approved traffic control plans for each <br />construction stage. <br />Meet daily with the contractor, subcontractor(s) at the start of each workday to discuss and <br />document planned construction activities for the day. <br />Remain on-site during construction activities to ensure work activities are consistent with <br />planned construction activities for the day and that work is consistent with approved project <br />plans and specifications. <br />Direct contractor on construction activities in conformance with project plans and <br />specifications. <br />Coordinate daily with the Consultant Resident Engineer and City Project Manager regarding <br />construction activities and solicit direction when needed to ensure that the contractor <br />remains on task and that construction activities are consistent with project plans and <br />specifications. <br />Document inconsistencies with project plans and specifications in the daily inspection logs. <br />Confirm the design changes with design Consultant, and City Project Manager as needed. <br />Confirm dig-out pavement repair sites and quantities, pavement restoration work, and other <br />construction activities are consistent with project plans and specifications. <br />Task 3 Deliverables: <br />Consultant Construction inspector shall, daily, write construction inspection reports describing <br />the type of work performed, locations of work, inspection results, number of employees and <br />types of equipment present, and other information as directed by the City Transportation <br />Division, such reports being either in software (Microsoft Project, or other application) or on <br />paper as needed. The report shall be accompanied by photos documenting work performed. <br />Grant fund expenditure and project report documents as needed. <br />Task 4 – Special Inspection Coordination (As Needed) <br />Consultant shall coordinate as-needed with special on call inspection teams available through the <br />City’s On Call Construction Testing Teams to ensure that the 2026-2027 Pavement Program <br />projects are being built consistent with project Specifications and other City/State & permits <br />requirements. Consultant shall aid the City Transportation Division to help coordinate specialty <br />material sampling & testing services, as determined by the City Director or designee, including <br />but not limited to: <br />Review and update, if required, the City’s Quality Assurance Program to the lates standards <br />as required by Caltrans. <br />Sampling and testing as required on the specifications and the City’s Engineering Standard. <br />Inspecting the sub-base, formwork, and reinforcement before placement of concrete, hot <br />mix asphalt concrete, rubberized chip seal, micro surfacing, and slurry seal, and BMP. <br />Observing demolition, aggregate base, concrete/hot mix asphalt concrete, slurry seal, cape <br />seal, and micro surfacing placement. <br />Document test data and observations through daily and end-of-job summary reports. Daily <br />reports shall be submitted to the City Transportation Division daily. Daily reports should <br />ATTY/AGR.2026.091/Zoon (Pavement Construction Management Support) (Page 13 of 16)
