ATTY/RESO.0023/CC RESO FIFA WORLD CUP 26 FLAG <br />REV: 05-07-26 VR <br />Page 2 of 2 <br />the Peninsula’s best downtown, and the City’s intent to host events in conjunction with <br />FIFA World Cup 26TM; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Council desires to raise the FIFA Worlds Cup 26TM flag for <br />the Commemorate “30 Days to Kickoff” event as well as fly it during the duration of FIFA <br />World Cup 26TM. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF REDWOOD CITY AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1. The foregoing recitals are true and correct, are hereby incorporated <br />herein by this reference as if fully set forth in their entirety, and constitute findings in this <br />matter. <br /> <br />Section 2. The City Council authorizes the raising of the FIFA World Cup 26TM flag <br />on Courthouse Square as part of the Regional Flag Raising Event on May 12, 2026, to <br />commemorate “30 Days to Kickoff” of FIFA World Cup 26™. <br /> <br />Section 3. The City Council further authorizes the display of the FIFA World Cup <br />26TM flag on Courthouse Square for the duration of FIFA World Cup 26TM, from June 11, <br />2026, through July 19, 2026. <br /> <br />Section 4.
