The City Council finds and declares that, in compliance with California <br />Business and Professions Code Section 25692, City staff have notified and received <br />feedback from the Redwood City Police Department about (1) potential health and safety <br />impacts that might be generated by the entertainment zone and strategies to mitigate <br />those impacts; and (2) the entertainment zone’s proposed boundaries, days and hours of <br />operation, types of alcoholic beverages permitted, and approved non-glass and nonmetal <br />containers. <br /> <br />Section 4. The City Council hereby amends Chapter 33B of the Redwood City <br />Municipal Code as provided in Exhibit A, attached hereto and incorporated herein. <br /> <br />Section 5. If any provision, section, paragraph, sentence or word of this <br />Ordinance, or the application thereof to any person or circumstance, is rendered or <br />declared invalid by any court of competent jurisdiction, the remaining provisions, sections, <br />paragraphs, sentences or words of this Ordinance, and their application to other persons <br />or circumstances, shall not be affected thereby and shall remain in full force and effect <br />and, to that end, the provisions of this Ordinance are severable. <br /> <br />Section 6. The City Clerk is directed to cause this Ordinance to be published in <br />accordance with applicable law. <br /> <br />Section 7. Within 30 days of adoption of this Ordinance, the City Clerk is also <br />directed to provide (1) a copy of this Ordinance to the California Department of Alcoholic <br />Beverage Control, (2) a map clearly identifying the boundaries of the Entertainment Zone <br />established by this Ordinance, (3) the days and hours of potential operation of the <br />Entertainment Zone, (4) the types of alcoholic beverages permitted within the <br />Entertainment Zone, and (5) the approved nonglass and nonmetal containers in which <br />alcoholic beverages may be authorized. <br /> <br />Section 8. This Ordinance shall go into effect 30 days following its adoption. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />* * * <br /> <br />
