The County model provides consistent education, <br />permitting, inspections, and enforcement across jurisdictions while reducing administrative <br />burden on the City. By leveraging existing County infrastructure and expertise, Redwood City <br />can strengthen protections for youth and the broader community without incurring the <br />significant staffing and operational costs associated with building and administering a separate <br />local program. <br />Most importantly, adopting the County Match ordinance creates consistency across San Mateo <br />County. Youth, families, and communities move freely across city boundaries.
