A maximum of ten (10) days under normal supply conditions. <br />B. A maximum of ten (10) days during a Stage 1 water shortage. <br />C. A maximum of five (5) days during a Stage 2 water shortage. <br />D. A maximum of three (3) days during a Stage 3 water shortage. <br />E. A maximum of twenty-four (24) hours during a Stage 4 water shortage. <br />F. A maximum of twenty-four (24) hours during a Stage 5 water shortage. <br />G. A maximum of twenty-four (24) hours during a Stage 6 water shortage <br />5.4 PENALTIES <br />The taking of any action prohibited in this WSCP is an infraction punishable by a fine <br />of up to five hundred dollars ($500) for each day in which the violation occurs. Prior to <br />issuance of a fine, the City shall follow the enforcement procedures set forth below: <br />1st Violation: notice of violation door hanger/email/phone call to customer, resident or <br />business; <br />2nd Violation: certified letter from City notifying customer, resident or business of <br />violation and potential future fines; <br />3rd Violation: one hundred dollars ($100) for a third violation of the same provision <br />within one (1) year; <br />4th Violation: two hundred dollars ($200) for a fourth violation of the same provision <br />within one (1) year; <br />Five hundred dollars ($500) for all subsequent violations of the same provision within <br />one (1) year. <br />Each day in which a violation occurs shall be considered a separate offense. The fine <br />for the infraction is in addition to, and does not supersede or limit, any other remedies, <br />civil or criminal. <br />The Director may grant a fine reduction for individuals who have demonstrated <br />financial hardship and provided income documentation. Eligibility for a fine reduction <br />is based on gross household income in comparison to area median income limits as <br />defined each year by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development for <br />San Mateo County. The most recent Area Median Income (AMI) can be found at: <br />https://www.smcgov.org/housing/income-limits. AMI is based on household size and <br />income and shall include income for all permanent residents of the household or <br />property receiving potable water service from the city. <br />
