2 <br /> <br />Summary of Service Offered <br />The Center offers public facing materials and resources and provides services directly to <br />jurisdiction staff. <br /> <br />Public Facing Materials for Homeowners <br /> <br />Answers to Homeowner Questions <br />The Center’s staff is available to answer questions and provide assistance to homeowners <br />navigating their local ADU development process. This includes a Help Line service, which <br />homeowners can sign up for to help troubleshoot ADU challenges. This service is intended <br />to save time for planning counter staff. <br /> <br />ADU Feasibility Consults <br />The Center provides homeowners in member jurisdictions with personalized consults to <br />answer questions around the feasibility of a homeowner’s potential project, how to <br />navigate the ADU development process and potential costs. <br /> <br />Webinars and In-Person Education Events <br />The Center hosts educational webinars and in-person events, providing homeowners <br />information and advice on all aspects of ADU development. Both live events and webinars <br />can be customized for specific jurisdictions. <br /> <br />ADU Affordability Programs <br />The Center has stewarded a working group comprising multiple SMC jurisdictions to <br />develop an affordable ADU program to incentivize homeowners to construct affordable <br />ADU rentals and/or support low- to moderate-income homeowners in constructing an <br />ADU. The Center will be launching and managing this program in the coming year on behalf <br />of jurisdictions who wish to fund and participate in this program. <br /> <br />Plans Gallery <br />Members of the Center receive access to an online Plans Gallery that enables homeowners <br />to browse a collection of the jurisdiction’s pre-approved ADU plans. Homeowners can <br />search for specific types, sizes, and architectural styles of ADUs. This product satisfies one <br />of the requirements of AB 1332, which requires cities to have a pre-approved ADU plans <br />program in place. <br /> <br />Guidebook and Other Handouts <br />The Center has produced a comprehensive guidebook to help homeowners navigate the <br />ADU development process - from initial idea to permitting and selecting contractors. <br />7.A. - Page 8 of 16 <br />15
