Landscaped areas shall be distributed throughout the parking lot or as <br />appropriate, based on the lot configuration, to minimize the amount of directly connected <br />impervious areas. Concave (rather than convex) landscape forms are encouraged to <br />receive runoff from impervious areas and to allow for infiltration and/or detention; <br />c. Landscaping and shade trees shall be contained in planters and tree wells <br />bordered by a six (6)-inch high concrete curb or equivalent approved by the City, so as to <br />be protected from automobile overhang; <br />d. Shade trees shall be required at the rate of one (1) tree per each required five (5) <br />parking spaces. Trees shall be a minimum of fifteen (15)-gallon can size and be of a variety <br />that will provide shade upon reaching maturity; Shade Trees. To improve climate <br />resilience, provide shade for surface parking lots, vehicular roadways and driveways, and <br />pedestrian pathways. Tree plantings shall conform to the following: <br />i. For surface parking along the perimeter of a site, provide one fifteen-gallon <br />tree per three (3) spaces, distributed on the perimeter of the parking area. <br />ii. For surface parking areas not located along the perimeter of the site, provide <br />one fifteen-gallon tree per five (5) spaces, distributed in the parking field. The <br />selected tree species shall have a crown diameter of thirty (30) or more feet at <br />maturity. <br />iii. For vehicular roadways and driveways outside of parking areas and pedestrian <br />pathways, provide one fifteen-gallon tree for each thirty (30) feet of <br />roadway/driveway/pathway length. <br />iv. Each tree shall be installed in structural soil that is not less than three (3) feet <br />deep and not less than sixteen (16) square feet in area. <br />v. Tree plantings shall be irrigated or be watered by hand for not less than three <br />years. <br />e. Landscaped areas and planters shall be developed with a permanent irrigation <br />system approved by the City; and shall be maintained permanently, and kept free of all <br />weeds, debris, and litter. <br /> <br />[30.18.C is unchanged] <br /> <br />30.19 - Bicycle Parking. <br />A.
