ATTY/RESO.0050/CC RESO CLASSIFICATION AND WAGE AND SALARY PLAN (CAO, PD, AND BLDG DEPARTMENT POSITIONS) REV: 07-17-26 ET Page 1 of 2 RESOLUTION NO. 16430 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY AMENDING THE CITY’S CLASSIFICATION AND SALARY AND WAGE PLAN TO 1) ESTABLISH THE NEW JOB DESCRIPTION AND SALARY RANGE FOR DEPUTY BUILDING OFFICIAL, 2) REVISE JOB DESCRIPTION FOR PARALEGAL, 3) ADD DEPUTY CITY ATTORNEY TO THE FLEXIBLY STAFFED SERIES OF ASSISANT CITY ATTORNEY/SENIOR ASSISTANT CITY ATTORNEY/CHIEF ASSISTANT CITY ATTORNEY WITH TITLE CHANGE TO DEPUTY CITY ATTORNEY/ASSISTANT CITY ATTORNEY/SENIOR ASSISTANT CITY ATTORNEY/CHIEF ASSISTANT CITY ATTORNEY, AND 4) AMEND THE ADOPTED FISCAL YEAR 2026-27 BUDGET TO UPDATE THE FULL- TIME EQUIVALENT EMPLOYEE TABLE FOR THE POLICE DEPARTMENT TO RECLASSIFY AN ADMINISTRATIVE SECRETARY INCUMBENT TO MANAGEMENT ANALYST I AND APPROPRIATE $22,500 TO CONFORM THE BUDGETED AMOUNT TO ACTUAL EXPENDITURES APPROVED WHEREAS, the City Manager has requested that various job descriptions be established and/or amended to meet the current and future operational needs for the City; and WHEREAS, the classification specifications as described in Exhibit “A” were prepared by Human Resources staff in consultation with department management, to ensure the foreseeable needs of the organization were met; and WHEREAS, Human Resources staff met and conferred with the Redwood City Management Employees Association, and reached agreement on the new proposed job description and salary range for Deputy Building Official, and on proposed amendments to the Paralegal job description, as described in Exhibit “A” and in the full salary plan attached as Exhibit “B”; and WHEREAS, the Authorized Full-Time Equivalent Employee Table in the FY 2026- 27 Adopted Budget, as listed in Exhibit “C,” is being updated to reclassify a 1.0 Administrative Secretary – C710 to 1.0 FTE Management Analyst I – C513 in the Police Department. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY AS FOLLOWS: 1.The recitals set forth above are true and correct and are hereby incorporated by this reference as if fully set forth in their entirety. 2.The City’s Classification and Salary and Wage Plan is amended to establish the job description and salary for Deputy Building Official, update the job description for Paralegal, and add Deputy City Attorney to the flexibly staffed series of Assistant City
